I work in home health care and I have a patient originally from China. Where can I start learning Chinese?

I work in home health care and I have a patient originally from China. They are fluent in english but will only speak in Chinese. There are no classes near me for Chinese so are there any good places online? I just want to be able to understand them and talk with them. I have only picked up on a few words so far.
