What doed the "w" mean in Chinese Numbers?

Whenever I'm looking at douyin or bilibili videos, I've noticed the number of views, followers, likes, etc will be written as "7.7w" or "80w". What does the w stand for, if it is an abbreviation. If not what does it mean?

  1. W means 万 that reads as wàn. 万 means thousand. Therefore, if its 80w then its 80 thousand
