I recently noticed that I've been mispronouncing quite a few words.
To fix that I've added audio files, which I get from Google Translate's TTS (text to speech), to my flashcards.
Google's TTS seems quite good (it's "free", pronunciation seems alright (also seems to incorporate tone changes) and vocab download's can easily be automated).
Going through the audio files I had to notice this weird quirk (click on the listen button):
https://translate.google.com/#view=home&op=translate&sl=zh-CN&tl=en&text=%E5%91%A2%0A%E5%91%A2
I know there are some sounds that native speakers pronounce differently but that just seems absurd...
Could somebody explain to me why there is a difference in pronunciation.
And also: are there any other issues of that nature that I may encounter when using Google's TTS?
