A great way to get your hands on Chinese books is to buy them second-hand in your city. To do that, first you need to find a web site that Chinese people in your community post classified ads.
Try these steps:
(1) Google for phrases like:
- 波士顿 华人网
- 温哥华 论坛
- 纽约 本地
- 洛杉矶 分类
- [name of your city in Chinese] 华人网/论坛/本地/分类
(2) Explore the top results
(3) Look for pages with titles like “二手“, “买卖”, “市场”, “分类广告“
(4) Search for terms like “书”, “书本”, “图书”, “杂志“ etc.
(5) Contact the ad’s owner
Here’s an example of a Vancouver ad that I found which was selling 40 漫画 (comic) books for $40 altogether. The ad was posted on 5 Apr 2019: https://www.vansky.com/info/adfree/1551397.html
Have you tried getting second-hand books this way?
