Beginner to Learning Mandarin

Hi all. I live in middle America where it is pretty white-washed and can't immerse myself with the language as I would like. Anyone have any tips for me as I begin learning Mandarin? Should I seek tutoring on Discord or other online chat rooms or would an app like Duolingo work out the best?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!
