I want to keep this short but still explain my situation. I just finished college and want to find a new hobby that continues to challenge me as an adult. (24) I wanted to study Chinese during college but could never find the time to fully start. Now that I have the free time I want to begin but everyone in my life is telling me I'm wasting my time because I'll never make progress in such a challenging language learning it casually. I want to approach this in a fun way with no real expectations of how far I go with it. I wanted to ask Language learners on their opinion on learning this Language as a hobby. An hour a day max, 100% Self study, No teacher/Tutor. Am I wasting my time? Is it impossible to make long term progress doing it by yourself? Thank you for taking the time to read this. Have a nice day!
