What’s the best way to watch a movie/series in Chinese?

With subtitles? Without subtitles? Only with pinyin? What would boost my vocabulary and listening skills the most?

Obviously no subs is good because I’m completely dependant on my listening skills, however I’m afraid that I’m not good enough to understand everything and keep up with how fast they’re speaking. What’s the best method for me right now?
