Recommendations for YA novels?

My goal is to be able to read 三國演义 in the original. I'm a heritage speaker, Taishan/Cantonese/Mandarin, but you can say I'm about late elementary school level literate. I love reading so I'm just going to read read and read. Throw me a list of books.
