的吗 At end of question

In my chinese exercises I found the following sentence: 你坐出租车来学校的吗?

It roughly translates as "Are you coming to school by Taxi?". However, I don't understand why the 的 is there. I know that it can be used to talk about possession or as a particle that makes a sentence more certain, but it doesn't look like any of these uses fit here.
