Ultimate flashcard advice before I die under a mound of paper scraps

I hear flashcards are the bee's knees for helping with study. Before I spend an age making them and then realising I should have included XYZ and restarting, does anyone have a picture of one they made that covers the whole shebang? Like colours for tones etc.? I know I know making them a bajillion times over is part of the whole learning process malarky...but it would be nice to have an idea of what to include (or aspire to) from the get-go.
