Recently started studying Mandarin and got very turned off by collectivist philosophy (namely, Confucianism), which seeps out of Chinese culture. My least favorite symptom, for example, might be the shyness of Chinese people ( I've been exposed mostly to women).
I think this philosophical divide might be fascinating among some lovers of linguistics. I would love to watch develop a discussion on the subject !
