Trouble remembering words

Hey everyone Ive been learning hsk1 for a while now and finding that some words just don’t seem to stick

I’m wondering if it’s a good idea to move onto hsk2 and come back later, or to grind hsk1 until every word is burnt into my brain.

Any advise is appreciated Thanks in advance :)
