First week down, what should my next steps be?

As of today, I have just completed my first week of Chinese(simplified) and I’m excited for the weeks to come.

I am currently using the apps ‘Drops’ ‘LingoDeer’ and ‘Anki’, spending two-ish hours before bed working through what’s available to me.

My main question is, is what I am doing adequate to learning the language in a useable way?

Estimating from the statistics the apps provide. I have learned about 60 words, numbers(1-10), some basic sentence structure, tones, and word finals - with about half that being more confident than the more recent stuff. My university does run Mandarin lessons/classes however I haven’t inquired further into these, and I don’t have a language partner as I’m surprisingly socially introverted.

As for non app related media, I am unfortunately lacking except for some animations I watch online once or twice a week, so most of my language base is provided from the apps.

I would love to hear what you guy’s opinions are, and if you have any questions about me that may help please feel free to ask!
