Anki advice

Anki advice

Hey guys.

I've been struggling in creating an Anki deck for my Chinese vocabulary and am look for any help/advice.

I have a spreadsheet from HSK, Duolingo and Reading vocabulary. I first practise the characters and the stroke order, create an in context sentence, and then go on to transfer it into an Anki card.

Each vocabulary card goes into three types;

Processing img pl4ffvzjk4031...

To practise listening and writing the pinyin; front- audio back- pinyin (the card type I have no issue with)

To remember the meaning; front- character back- related image and sentence in context (issue: I can't have an image for each character and thus add the sentences too with the character's use. If I do, I cant use this field as an aid to point 1. to practise the character writing, as if I add the image to the pinyin, the sentence in context will be there too, giving away the character used)

Please any suggestions or better methods are welcome. I want to ensure that I'm learning the correct character writing and pinyin for each character, since I previously made the mistake of just learning characters off of Duolingo. This left me with knowing what a character meant, but not being able to actually use it. I want to find a long-term effective method that I can rely on to advance in learning the language.
