Transitive counterpart to 变 / "make [noun] [adjective]"

As the title says, is there a structure that corresponds to how "make" is used in English in the following way:

  • make this problem a little simpler
  • make the car a little lighter
  • make the ball rounder

As in, cause X to be more Y.

Thanks!
