Questions about learning Mandarin in Beijing

Hi, redditors here!!!

I really want to learn Mandarin in Beijing as I love China and Chinese culture, but the problem is that I don't have any basic knowledge about the language. So I've been wondering if that could be a problem when I apply a university in Beijing.

I've selected four universities that seem good to me, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Beijing Normal University and Beijing Language and Culture University, but I don't know which one I should choose.

So can I apply any of them if I don't understand any Chinese? How much do you know about the Mandarin learning courses in those four universities? Are you studying in one of them? How is it like there? What are the requirements and levels offered if I go to Tsinghua or Peking University?
