Méi wèntí

I know nothing about the language, but was told "Méi wèntí" means "no problem". But I was later told that it's only certain contexts or instances of "no problem". I'm not sure what was meant by that. Could someone explain?

Would it be appropriately used if, for example, you tried to open a door but it was locked, and you thought, "Méi wèntí" because you have the key? Or is there a better expression for that sort of situation?

Thank you.
