Is there a pattern to the tones that kinds of words have?

I've noticed that radicals will appear across similar sounding words.

I'm wondering if there is any pattern to which tones word types tend to have?

e.g. Prepositions tend to be 1st and 4th tone. Or common objects tend to be 2nd and 3rd tone.

Are there any patterns like this in Chinese?
