How to learn pinyin?

I am just getting into learning Chinese and following the teachyourselfmandarin blog advice and learning pinyin first. However while they advice to master pinyin they don't leave a lot of good resources. Aside from the pinyin charts with all the syllables I wasn't able to find any good app or similar to practice it. I would like to find something like an Ankii deck with all pinyin syllables and their tone variations, I searched around a bit on this sub and wasn't able to find anything. Could someone point me in the right direction? Is it sensible to learn all of the pinyin syllables before moving on with the characters?
