Hello everyone! I have recently noticed when doing a Google search on a whim that there is very limited information about Chinese calligraphy in English, especially info catering to the beginners, like what types of calligraphy there are, and how to start, what tools are needed, and where to buy them etc.
It seems people either learn in person at studios or they’re already very advanced in Chinese calligraphy, there are even very few online courses in English.
I’m part curious about this phenomenon, and part considering starting a blog about basic calligraphy information and resources because I think it’s a wonderful art form, a good way to memorise Chinese characters strokes and also a way to meditate. It’s a nice hobby and people can do it even without being very advanced in the language itself. It will be nice to introduce this art form to more people.
What do you guys think?
Will such a blog be worthwhile, or do people who learn or practice Chinese calligraphy just get all the information in Chinese anyway? Anybody here interested in information on Chinese calligraphy with a pen or a brush?
