Looking for some help to find a casual/slightly comical way to tell someone they are "overthinking it" or making conclusions based on false/premature assumptions. In English, I usually use this expression to really extend this meaning to a combination of "stop teasing me" and "don't have such an overactive imagination." Can the sub help me find an equivalent in Mandarin? I don't think it's as simple as 你想太多了 , is it?
One situation in which I would apply this use is having parents stop by when a female friend is also visiting your place, leading to your parents asking you bluntly if this person is now your girlfriend/fiance. Or your parents notice that you are wearing glasses and they reach their own conclusion that I must have decided to stop wearing contact lenses for the rest of my life. Yeah, I know these examples are somewhat ridiculous, but that's why I'm pointing to the use case being used in a comical/teasing environment.
