My good friends over at HelloTalk provided me with some helpful tips on how to respond if approached for a photo in China. The camera shy among you might find them helpful. 要是有的人来麻烦你和你拍照的话，你就最好委婉的拒绝，是不是？我的HT上的好网友给我发了一些可能也帮你的建议。
1) “对不起，我害羞不喜欢拍照。”
2) “不好意思，我女朋友不喜欢我和别人合照。”
3) “不好意思，我现在特别忙，我赶时间。”
4) “哇！你看这里风景好美，我给你们拍个全景吧！”
5) “你看这里风景这么漂亮，我帮你拍一张全身照吧！”
如果死缠烂打的还要跟你合个影，你就才可以直接拒绝。If the insistant ones don't let up, you can then be more direct in your refusal.
Others jokingly suggested:
冲这种人字正腔圆地说 “对不起，老外不喜欢拍照” 或者 “我长得太丑了！”
