I’m taking Chinese at a college in the US Midwest. I’ve also been using Duolingo as a supplemental learning aid, and I’ve started learning numbers in both.
I’m going to use the number 17 as an example for my question.
Duolingo says 17 as “七十”, or “seven ten” in English.
My Chinese class is teaching it as “十七”, or “ten seven” in English.
Is this a regional dialect thing? Can I use either way? Some help is appreciated, I really have no idea what I’m doing. Thanks!
