So...yeah...I live in Macau as an expat. Been here a couple of years now, visited many times. Learning Mandarin even though I should focus on Cantonese down the line. We get a lot of mainland tourists here, and sometimes when I'm in line at a store or something like paying for my items there is a lack of personal space from people behind me....usually mainland citizens. I think I know how to tell someone to move, but I don't really know yet the best way to pretty seriously tell someone to back up. This morning I was walking my dog, and went down the elevator. Right when the doors open two guys were trying to get in, and nearly trampled my dog (a corgi). They apologized in the little English they knew, and I tried not to get too upset. Still, I was thinking that a phrase to let someone know that they're too close, and need to fallback would be useful. Is there a common technique or phrase I could use? Thanks.
