Hey everybody, there's something I don't quite understand regarding the HSK test. The Wikipedia article is very confusing and I can't find a solid answer to my question anywhere else. Anyway, Wikipedia says that the HSK consists of a written part and an oral part. However, chinesetest.cn says that a HSK certificate for a given level only shows results for listening, reading and writing and furthermore implies that this certificate is sufficient to demonstrate proficiency. So which is it, do you or don't you need to take both the written exam and oral exam? If so, do you need to book them separately? If not, what exactly is the point of the HSKK?
