I graduate university in December of this yearAnd it’s always been on my bucket list to learn Chinese. Considering once I get a full-time job it will be quite difficult to invest time to learn languages, I am planning on perhaps living in a Chinese speaking environment for about 2 to 3 months.
However, I am a little bit iffy about living in China due to the political situation and how the quality of life does not seem very great. Sure, I can live in Taiwan and enjoy the fact that it is much more westernized, but people speak very good English there and it’s not in my priority to learn traditional Chinese characters. What would you guys recommend in this regard?
Also, I am about a HSK 2. What should I do between now and December to prepare for something like this so that I can get the most out of my couple of months long trip?
Thanks!
