Help with Chinese name, please

First of all, I apologize if this thread is inconvenient.

My name is Murilo and I will move to Taiwan this year for Academic pursuits. I need to choose a Chinese name and, so far, it is being hard to pick one. At first, I wanted a surname and a name that still resembled my own, without being a simple transliteration. My concern was, and still is, picking a name that is easy to write, nice to pronounce, with a good meaning that matches my personality, and that isn’t odd (like being too tacky or too antiquated).

Right now, I am torn between 堡慕明 (BǎoMùmíng) and 穆守仁 (MùShǒurén). The first one actually does resemble phonetically my Western surname and name, with the plus that 慕明 would have a good meaning in an Academic setting. For surname, I picked 堡 since my Western surname also come from “fortress”.

On 穆守仁, I really think 穆 defines very well my personality, although being used as a family name in this case. Now 守仁 worries me. It sounds good, is easy to write and has a good meaning (as far as I am aware), but I am concerned it may be quite antiquated (I picked it from Wang Yangming who lived in the Ming dynasty).

I also really liked 慕義 (Mùyì)’s meaning and shortness, but the traditional ideogram is quite hard to write. My teacher also recommended me 穆天 (Mùtiān). I would need to pick a third ideogram to "complete" these, however.

What do you think it is better? Any recommendation, please? Should I avoid using one or another?
