This might sound dumb, and I agree, it is, but nonetheless this is a serious question. Why is Canada called 加拿大 and not
咖拿大 or
卡拿大 or
咔拿大
Did somone, long ago, just sort of screw up with the translation? Or is it a dialect/different chinese language thing?
