When to use 的 before adjectives or multiple times

So firstly, I always thought that 的 should really only be used once per phrase, so is this sentence correct:

她待在温暖的篝火的旁边。

Also, when should I use 的 after adjectives? I know usually it’s when the adjective is two characters, but are there any exceptions? (ex: 许多人)
