I want to ask if anybody has an explanation for this perplexing distinction between homophones and at the same time open a general dialogue about the intelligibility of Mandopop lyrics. The following are the lyrics to the song 留不住的故事 sung by 黃露儀 (seems to also go by the name 黃鶯鶯, I'm not sure why, great song btw):

First of all, it's not clear whether this distinction between 迷網 and 迷惘 is intended by the author because several lyrics sites only have 迷網 throughout. Second of all, it occurs to me that it is impossible for anybody to perceive this distinction without looking at the lyrics. I know Chinese lyrics are tricky in general, but in this case it is the exact same sentence with only one character exchanged for a homophone. The only logical conclusion the listener could come to is that it is a repetition, right?
So can anybody illuminate this? What are the lyrics actually supposed to be? Even if you don't know the answer, I would still be curious to know what you think about this or have any other examples of obscure punning like this.
