How can I read the characters you are posting?

I sometimes post at this subreddit and would get replies in simplified chinese characters which is understabdable since this is a for-chinese language subreddit.

The question is how or atleast what are the steps I should take first to learn how to read what you reply.

How can I read and say it (the characters) and not just read it and understans since sometimes they use the "symbol" method.

For clarifications, I once asked what can I say to people when i'm saying "excuse me" on a certain context and I received a reply in chinese characters but do not know how to read it aloud and I wanted to. Any help would be super appreciated :>>
