It's been six months since I started learning Chinese and as I expose myself to more and more Chinese speakers and media I'm really starting to wonder about the variety of accents even within Mandarin, I've heard some speakers who I swear fuse Sh and Ch or turn Sh into s. I also hear accents with drastically different tones and consonants like mixing up L and R. Of course, I plan to keep drilling myself in standard Mandarin but if someone could clarify what's going on in these accents or if there is a list of common variations I would find that really helpful.
