What options are there for saying the word “prefer”?

Now I already know you can say 更喜欢 or 宁可。From my understanding 宁可 is more of a preference between two undesirable options.

What other words are there to express “prefer”?

What option would be best to translate the following sentence: “I actually prefer working without the light on”. (Context is you’re doing some study in a dim lit room and then a friend comes in and turns the light on for you).
