Two things I noticed about Chinese people while I was learning mandarin

I was about to post this to facebook but deleted for fear of sounding racist by those who do not know where I am coming from. I have been learning Mandarin for a year now and noticed two things about the Chinese --

1) You know you are getting good at speaking when they STOP complimenting you. "You speak so well" translates to "an attempt was made".

2) Ask a question and you may never get an answer, make a mistake and you are quick to be corrected.
