If you want to watch Chinese-language material and exercise your listening skills without the effort of searching for something to watch, check out the CCTV4 livestream on Youtube. CCTV4 is a Chinese-state television station intended for Chinese speakers abroad. What's really great about the channel is that it basically shows the range of programs across the CCTV channels, so when you tune in it could be news, (older) dramas, variety shows, (reruns of) galas, documentaries, etc. (alongside the lengthy advertisements between programs ... but again, if you're watching it for language practice that's part of it!). It also gives you a sense of what Mainland Chinese TV is like.
The use case for which I think it's best suited is if you want to add a specific amount of time (like 30 minutes or whatever) that you listen to Chinese-language media each day as part of how you study. Just turn it on and set the timer. You also, as I mentioned above, get to hear a lot of registers of "television Chinese", from newscasters to actors to ordinary people appearing on TV.
