Going to Tianjin this summer, essential everyday slang?

As the title suggests, I'm going to Tianjin this summer.

I know textbook basic mandarin, but as I've studied many languages, I know that that is just the surface. What are many common "essential" sentances or even words that a textbook wouldn't teach you?
