Funny mistranslation I had with a foreign language partner

So I was talking with my Native Chinese speaking partner, when the conversation went a little something like this：

朋友： 你今天吃了吗？

me, not knowing how to spell "sanmingzhi" typed this, thinking it was correct because "hey, 三 is in there, must be right"

我：好问题，我吃了三孩子

朋友： 。。。什么？

我： 是！ 三孩子， 为什么？

朋友： 。。。

我： 。。。哦
