然而却不是一点儿声音也没有

I need help breaking down this grammar:

科学研究发现,海洋底部看起来非常安静,然而却不是一点儿声音也没有,海底的动物们一直在 ”说话“, 只不过人的耳朵是听不到的。

I understood it to mean: "Scientific studies have shown that (although) the seabed looks extremely peaceful, there is still (contrary to expectation) some sound. Sea creatures are always talking but the human ear just can't hear them.

The word order and structure of "一点儿声音也没有" confuses me. Is the fixed pattern 一点儿也没 + 动词,but 一点儿 +名词 + 也没有?

And the 却不是 means a sort of "however it is actually not that case that...", right?

The multiple negatives and weird word order had me squinting like mad xD
