Book recommendations for HSK 5-6?

Hi all,

I'm looking for a good book to read (fiction or non-fiction). I'm level HSK 5 preparing to test HSK 6.

I just finished 看见 by 柴静. It was too maudlin for me and a bit more challenging than I would have liked. I've read other children's book like Oliver Twist, but found them boring since I know all those stories already and would like to read something that was written in Chinese, by Chinese.

Any suggestions? Thanks!
