费正清(fèi zhèng qīng)/John King Fairbank/American
傅高义(fù gāo yì)/Ezra Feivel Vogel/American
宋怡明(sòng yí míng)/Michael Szonyi/Canadian
All the three people are researchers of Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies of Harvard University. You can find more name examples in this center’s faculty page(it seems everyone of the center have a Chinese nice name). If you want to have a more natural Chinese name, theirs can be a good reference.
利玛窦(lì mǎ dòu)/Matteo Ricci/Italian
汤若望(tāng ruò wàng)/Johann Adam Schall von Bell/German
南怀仁(nán huái rén)/Ferdinand Verbiest/Belgian
These three people are missionaries in Ming and Qing dynasties. They knows a lot of Chinese culture and also earn great reputation from Chinese people.
All of these names are excellent names in Chinese and sound like the names of intellectuals. I think it will be nice to have a good name for language studying, however I still prefer my original name lol.
