So I bought this to read to my son.. And honestly, I'm still learning a ton of vocab from it. It also helps me keep my chops. I especially want to recommend it because of the multitude of topics it covers. In Chinese, it's called 十万个为什么。You can find a bunch of different versions on Amazon, but I bought mine in a Suguo in Nanjing.
Also, did you guys know you can buy books on taobao and have them shipped to the States? It's a bit expensive, but we've done it a few times and it's totally worth it, especially as we are raising our son to speak Chinese.

小朋友都知道，船是一种重要的水上交通工具，它能够把人和货物从一个码头运送到另一个码头，给人们的生活带来极大地便利。可是船载着这么重的东西，为什么还可以漂浮在水面上而不会沉到水底呢？
这主要与浮力有关，水能够给漂浮物一个向上的支撑力，这个支撑力叫作浮力。水中的物体都受到浮力的作用，但浮力不一定能使所有的物体都漂浮起来，只有当浮力大于物体的重力时，物体才会浮起来。而浮力与物体排开水的体积有关。船很宽大，中间又是空心，这样的造型不仅减少了船的重力，还能帮助船排开更多的水，使排开水的体积变大，相当于增加了浮力，所以船就能漂浮在水面上。
