Teaching English in China - province recommendations?

I am applying for a teaching assistantship lasting one year through the British Council. In the application, you can select 3 regions from the following list in order of preference: Beijing, Chongqing, Hunan, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Hebei, Shanghai, Guizhou and Guangdong.

My two personal stipulations are: (1) being able to converse with locals in a somewhat standard Mandarin (2) relatively decent air quality.

My current choices are : (1) Jiangsu (2) Zhejiang (3) Beijing

We can specify cities which interest us, too. I mentioned Nanjing, Suzhou and Hangzhou as I love natural environments with rivers, trees etc. I know Beijing air quality is horrendous, but I'm still weighing up options.

Any recommendations?

TLDR: 我正在报名参加英国文化协会教英语的计划。对一些地方特别感兴趣的话，申请人就可以写下三个。一下是名单： 北京，重庆，湖南，江苏，浙江，河北，上海，贵州，广东。

最重要的方面是空气污染不太严重，还有跟当地人能说一口比较标准的普通话。根据这些上述要求，你有没有要给我的建议？:D
