Years ago I was very interested in Asian culture and history, and one of the things that I remember is that modern China changes constantly and very fast. (I even learned some Mandarin, but haven't used it in years). Now that some years have passed and I've become interested in the topic again, I realize that the China I studied 10 years ago is different from the China there is today, and I feel a lot of what has been written about China described China from an even longer time ago.
So my question is this: I want to know what China is like today (the culture, the people, the politics, the language, the media, etc.), but I'm not sure where to start or continue my self-study. What does the community recommend, either in websites, news outlets, or subreddits? Are there podcasts and YouTube channels that would show what typical life in modern China is like today? Or does the pace of change keep it a dynamic mystery?
