Are Netflix subtitles accurate?

I've found on most TV shows on Netflix (even all the American ones) you can now select simplified Chinese for subtitles. I'm wanting to use this to help reinforce the characters I already know, but I was curious if this is a bad idea since it's being translated from English.

Anyone have any experience with this?
