What do you guys think about learning Chinese through song lyrics?

Like this, translating a popular Chinese song into (singable) English in detail

I had a friend who taught herself to read/write Chinese by writing and translating popular Chinese songs. It seems to work better than plain memorization because of the rhyme and context :) Curious to see how you all learn vocabulary?
