I posted here a while ago after my landlord came by to do some work on the apartment and brought with her a gift for me (a bottle of baijiu). I'm going to be stopping by her house on Sunday to give her my last rent check and I'm going to be dropping off a gift I bought for her (a bottle of Southern Comfort and a gold scented candle). I've wrapped up the two gifts in red tissue paper and gold ribbon and I have these golden gift tags that I'd like to attach to each of them and write a Chinese phrase. Can somebody help me with some traditional Chinese phrases that are usually used when giving gifts? From the last thread I posted a few months ago, /u/sdasponsor recommended 祝你一路顺风 (I wish you all the best), or 祝你平安健康 (I wish you safety and good health).
I also found this website with a few additional phrases, a few of which I like most are:
五福臨門 (may the five blessings come to you)
and
恭喜发财 (wish you wealth and prosperity)
Would anybody be able to confirm whether the latter two are correctly written? Also are these traditionally used during the Chinese new year, or would they be appropriate for any occasion?
Thanks in advance!
