Hi guys, so recently there has been new guy in my Chinese class and he's Korean. When he started speaking Chinese, the teacher right away knew he was Korean but to me (Australian-Korean but grew up speaking fluent Chinese/Canto) didnt pick it up. I was just wondering what gave it away that he had an accent in Chinese? Like for instant, when a French person speaks English right away you know he's French because of his accent, so what does a Korean sound like speaking Chinese or any foreigner for that fact? Is there certain ways they pronounce stuff and if so, how do I pick it up? lolol someone please respond to me because this has been on my mind for a month and I tried searching it up but nothing came up and I feel like an uncultured swine :(
