Pleco OCR- Add on vs Google Translate OCR

hi ! i will be travelling to china soon for a short trip of 11 days. My chinese is limited to speaking very basic words.

i have the basic Pleco app, do i need the OCR add-on or can i rely on google translate OCR ? i would like to save money if possible. But if it is really important..i will get the add-on.
