Good place to start?

So, I've recently found myself with a bit of free time on my hands, and I'm fairly interested in learning (Mandarin) Chinese. I'm a native English speaker, though I've spent the last few years learning Japanese. As a result of that, I've noticed I can occasionally figure out or make an educated guess around what some Chinese words mean when written, which has left me with a bit of curiosity around the Chinese language and culture, and I think it'd be fun and really beneficial to actually pursue it and learn about it.

Problem is, I have no idea where to start. I started with Japanese as a kid through watching a ton of anime and a cheap activity book I bought off of amazon with allowance money. I feel like nowadays there are lots of resources out there, youtube, books, tv, streaming, similar things-- but it's a little overwhelming. I was wondering, does anyone have any good recommendations for some beginner materials? Cheap-ish textbooks, study plans, anything is appreciated, really.

Thanks in advance!
