怎么会有坟墓?
I believe that this sentence means: "Why is there a grave?" or "How come there is a grave?".
However, what role does 会 play in this sentence? I checked both Pleco and my grammar book and checked online but it seems that as far as grammar goes, 会 is used to express acquired skill, likeliness and frequency. I don't see either of those in this sentence.
On the other hand, treating 会 as a noun (meeting, association, temple fair whatever) or as a verb (get together, meet, understand, grasp etc.) doesn't make sense to me either. Why is there a 会 in this sentence and what is its function / meaning?
